 Mystical Creatures In Movies
‘The strength of the mystical creatures is that people will not believe them.’ Therefore they can easily reach the heights of our imagination, yet they remain tangible and human enough to trickle down our emotions. There are various mystical creatures used in different movies. Sometimes, they appear to be good and well wishers who bring luck along with them, but mostly, they personify Satan who can be beaten only by heroes’ interference in the movie. However we can not deny the fact that our world will definitely turn less interesting without them.
Here are some mystical creatures who have been entertaining you for decades-
- Vampire
‘When little girls wanted to be ballet dancers I kind of wanted to be a vampire’ -Angelina Jolie. Vampires are common in folklore, known for their blood thirsty cravings. It is believed they originated from Hebrew, Mesopotamian and Roman mythology who used to believe in the spirit of the dark In mystic movies they are used in different ways – For example vampires have been portrayed as passionate lovers in ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon’, as rock stars in ‘Queen Of The Damns’ and sober aristocrat in ‘Interview With The Vampire’. However most of the movies on Vampire are mere trash devoid of any mystic or spiritual inclinations.
- Dragon
Unfortunately enough there is no ‘dragon saving movement’ and as every mystical hero has to kill at least one dragon to prove their chivalry, there is hardly any dragon left now. Dragons are believed to be the most ferocious animal which can fly and exhale fire. Who can forget Draco played by Sean Connery? Mystic movies like ‘Dungeons and Dragons’, ‘Dragon Slayer’, ‘Dragon Heart’ still amuse people of all ages. And when we think of these movies, we think of dragons as magical creatures, before any other image comes in our minds.
- Werewolves
Some of the mystical creatures are combination of animal and human beings. Werewolves are one of them. How humans transform to wolves are always worth watching. Most of the time werewolves are proved to be killers of the opposite sex as in movies like ‘Werewolf of London’ or ‘Wolfman’.
Mystic movies have been made in other mystic creatures like mermaid, fairies, and phoenix also. These mystic creatures may not be present in reality but we can not ignore their existence in mind and spirit.
